Superb, heavy, 9ct gold & enamel football medal from the 1931 – 32 season (the medal is hallmarked Birmingham 1931 and my research indicates medals for this league were manufactured prior to the start of the season). However, please do your own research.
The front of the medal bears the Liverpool Crest highlighted with white enamel. Around the edge is embossed “LIVERPOOL COUNTY COMBINATION” picked out in dark blue enamel. The obverse is not engraved.
The package includes a printout of the Wikipedia page relating to the Liverpool County Football Combination which confirms that in the 1931 – 32 season, Everton FC were crowned Champions with Whiston FC runners-up.

Liverpool County Combination: The League was founded in 1908 and had its first season in 1909 – 10. Professional clubs such as Liverpool and Everton, when members of the league, would play their reserves or “A” team in this league but often first team players would also play. Everton won the League 6 times, firstly in 1931 – 32 (the medal for sale) and finally in 1954 – 55 (Liverpool have won the League 3 times). The league’s last season was 2005 – 06 when it merged with the I Zingari League to form a new competition – the Liverpool County Premier League.
Summary: As can be seen from the photos this is an attractive & collectable medal. I am happy to start the listing at around the current 9ct gold scrap price. Good luck!
