This is a really superb match worn Tim Howard shirt, worn away to Middlesboro in the FA Barclays Premiership on October 14, 2006.
You can see Tim walking off in this exact shirt in the attached photo – as you can see the mudstains on his sleeves have been wiped down but you cna still see the staining from them, and the words and numbers line up exactly (see the top right of the 4 in 24 against the D at the end of Howard).
For further reference, Tim is also pictured wearing a similar styled shirt (but not the same shirt) from a different game that season (against Liverpool).
This was Tim’s debut season with Everton, having joined from Manchester United (after 77 appearances). Everton finished 6th in the league that season,and Tim went on to play over 400 times with Everton before moving back to the States and the Colorado Rapids.
Previous to Man United Tim had had a stellar career with the MetroStars in Major League Soccer.
With 121 international appearances, Tim is the most capped goalkeeper in U.S. men’s national team history, and is a genuine soccer legend in the States. TIm was in 3 FIFA World Cup squads, 2006 (as understudy to Kasey Keller), and as starting keeper at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. One of Tim’s highest achievements was being awarded Man of the Match in his World Cup Final’s debut against England in 2010.
Tim’s jerseys do not come up very often and this is a genuine piece of American sports memoriabilia history.
