ESSO FA CUP CENTENARY COINS 1972 Choose From Selection. Dispatched with Royal Mail Selection of individual coins from the collection of FA Cup Centenary Medals, given away by Esso petrol stations to commemorate the centenary of the FA Cup competition in 1972. The collection consisted of 31 coins, each of the 30 clubs that had won the FA Cup up to that time were represented by a coin, with the club badge to the front and the details of each cup win to the rear. There was also a special gold coloured coin issued after the 1972 final with the details of the winners (Leeds United).
